THE WORLD HEALTH, MEDICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES ORGANIZATION (WHML.ORG) IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES A GLOBALLY INFLUENTIAL PLATFORM IN THE FIELD OF VETERINARY SCIENCES. FOUNDED IN THE NETHERLANDS IN 2000 BY PROFESSORS, ACADEMICS, SCIENTISTS, AND HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, WHML.ORG NOW OPERATES IN NINE REGIONS AROUND THE WORLD: EUROPE, ASIA, THE MIDDLE EAST, AFRICA, OCEANIA, THE CARIBBEAN, NORTH AMERICA, CENTRAL AMERICA, AND SOUTH AMERICA. WHML.ORG IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING EDUCATION, RESEARCH, PUBLISHING, AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES IN THE FIELD OF VETERINARY SCIENCES.
Veterinary Science is a field of study aimed at protecting the health and welfare of animals, diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases. This field includes various subdisciplines such as Veterinary Medicine, Animal Nutrition, Animal Genetics, Animal Diseases, Animal Welfare, and Public Health. Veterinary Science aims to improve the health and welfare of animals ranging from farm animals to pets, wildlife to laboratory animals.
Veterinary Medicine: Deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of animal diseases. Includes topics such as clinical practice, surgery, pharmacology, and pathology.
Animal Nutrition: A science that studies the nutritional needs and diets of animals. Includes topics such as ration formulation, nutritional supplements, and feed management.
Animal Genetics: A science that studies the genetic structure and hereditary characteristics of animals. Includes topics such as genetic diseases, breeding, and genetic engineering.
Animal Diseases: Studies infectious and non-infectious diseases seen in animals. Includes subfields such as epidemiology, virology, bacteriology, and parasitology.
Animal Welfare: Aims to improve the quality of life and well-being of animals. Includes topics such as animal behavior, ethics, and human-animal relations.
Public Health: Studies zoonotic diseases that can be transmitted from animals to humans and their relationship with public health. Includes topics such as food safety, zoonotic diseases, and veterinary public health programs.
WHML.ORG offers internationally and nationally recognized academic programs in the field of Veterinary Sciences.
